FANUC Deburring Robot Uses Vision, Force Sensing to Debur Ventilation Pipes

The following video features the new FANUC LR Mate 200iD Robot in a ventilation pipe deburring system. The new FANUC LR Mate 200iD robot is a versatile solution for a wide range of manufacturing operations that require access into small spaces. The LR Mate 200iD is the lightest mechanical unit in its class and is easily integrated into any automated system or machine.

In this operation demonstration, a FANUC LR Mate 200iD Robot uses FANUC iRVision to locate and pick ventilation pipes from a bin of unfinished parts. The robot checks pipe weight on the fly using the new three-axis FS-15iAe force sensor. FANUC Force Sensors are fully integrated into the CPU of every FANUC controller, and are available in four models ranging from 15 to 250kg. The robot checks the pipe location on the gripper and the vent holes' orientation with an iRVision camera. The robot then places it on a fixture with its vent holes facing up, where the pipe is deburred and placed on a completed part stack.

This intelligent deburring operation demonstrates the new LR Mate 200iD Robot's payload, best in class work envelope, FS-15iAe force sensor, and a new integrated thru-arm cable option for the iRVision force sensor.
