In this video, AV&R Vision & Robotics' Automated Leading and Trailing Edge Profiling System creates high precision elliptical profiles on blades according to the engineers' design using the FANUC LR Mate Series Robot. Profiling these blades ensures quality and reduces fuel consumption.

This Automated Profiling System integrates adaptive and closed-loop capabilities coupled with final leading and trailing edge profile inspection. With these capabilities, extremely tight tolerances can be reached. For example, the system can reach a tolerance of 37.5 microns, which is about 1.5 thousandths of an inch. It also includes tri-blend capabilities.

This system's high adaptability to part variations makes it the right choice to create leading and trailing edge shapes on new parts and to repair parts during their service life.
