New Cable-Integrated FANUC Spot Welding Robot Saves Manufacturers Time, Money


FANUC Robotics is proud to introduce the new R-2000iB/210FS Robot - An industrial robot that is unique for its hollow wrist with internally routed utilities and signal cables, making it ideal for applications that require work in tight spaces like servo spot welding, clinching, riveting and material handling.

In this demonstration, the new R-2000iB/210FS uses servo weld gun control to simulate robotic spot welding inside a truck cab. The robot's slim wrist is ideal for this tight work area. The development of this robot was in direct response to body shop and fab shop customer needs. Its unique hollow wrist routing with internally routed utilities and signal cables fully support off-line simulation, leading to faster system integration through reduced dressout and part programming time. Compared to conventionally dressed robots, this new robot eliminates the need for dress-related adjustments when a part program changes or new parts are added, significantly reducing tryout time and life cycle costs. 

Additionally, the robot uses iRVision Tip Inspection software to verify the weld tip condition. This checks proper alignment to help arc and spot welding customers reduce part-manufacturing issues and scrap/rework costs caused by poor weld tip conditions. The FANUC R-2000iB family of robots has best-in-class reliability, and offer a variety of payloads amd mounting options.
