FANUC Pharmaceutical Robot Used to Sort Dental Syringes By Barcode

 
 

A FANUC M-1iA/0.5A 6-axis robot picks and sorts randomly located oral dispensers from a flexible parts feeder using an iRVision 2D overhead camera. Once picked, the robot repositions the dispenser in front of another iRVision 2D camera. The 2D barcode is read to determine which part type and lot number to ensure traceability throughout the manufacturing process.

The robot then sorts the part types based on the 2D barcode. FANUC's iRVision package can read several 1D and 2D barcode types and store data in string registers for traceability.
