Robotically Automated Bagging Machine Handles & Fills 20 Bags/Minute - Courtesy of Premier Tech


Designed by FANUC Robotics Authorized Integrator Premier Tech, the PTH-900 Series Open-Mouth Bagger is an automatic bag placer with a modular design that can be upgraded to a fully automated bagger with a robotic bag transfer system. This system reforms the bag, removes it from the spout and carries it into the closing system. The fully automated system seen here utilizes the FANUC LR Mate 200iC robot. It can handle paper and laminated polywoven bags and is designed for gusseted and pillow type open-mouth bags.

In this system, the bag placer takes a bag from a stack and opens it using a vacuum blower. Spacers enter the bag to keep it opened at the opener station. The bag is then placed on the spout for the filling process where the LR Mate 200iC robot seizes it. The robot then clamps the bag, removes it from the spout and carries it into the closing system. The Premier Tech PTH Series is the first bagger that integrates a robot.

This system can handle up to 20 bags/minute. It can be applied in a variety of bagging applications, including food, chemical, minerals, fertilizer, seed and animal feed applications.
