Robotic Rotary Milking System

 
 

This industrial robot case study includes a rotary milking parlor using a FANUC M-710iC robot. This is the first in a family of a family of robot-assisted milking systems developed by Green Source Automation.

Cows are transferred through the different stations of the milking process on a rotary platform. With the robotic vision system, the robot can track the movement of the rotary platform in either direction. The M-710iC checks to see if a cow is in a stall, locates the cow teats in 3D, and sprays disinfectant consistently in under six seconds per stall.
