This course describes the setup and operations of vision systems using the 3D Laser Vision Sensor and V-500iA/3DL software to guide robots controlled by an R-J3iB or R-J3iC control unit.

Course Objectives: Upon successful completion of this course, the student will be able to identify components of a vision system, install vision hardware, configure computer-to-robot communication, develop an application, save and load applications, use vision instructions in robot programs, perform error recovery procedures and follow recommended safety practices. More specifically, students will learn:
- Setup of basic vision system
- 3D Laser Vision sensor basic operations
- Robot communication setting
- Camera calibration
- Teaching and testing the location tool
- Teaching and executing the 2D vision process
- Teaching and testing the 3D vision process
- Creation and execution of a robot program for vision applications
Recommended safety procedures are integrated into all training exercises. In addition to presentations and demonstrations, this course offers a series of lab exercises for the student to complete. Lab exercises relate directly to the classroom presentations and are intended to reinforce what the student has learned through actual hands-on experience.
Audience: This course is intended for the person who must install, set up, program and troubleshoot a V-500iA/3DL vision system using FANUC Robots and Software.
Prerequisites: HandlingTool, SpotTool, ArcTool, DispenseTool or Karel Operation and Programming.
