CR-Series Collaborative Robot Operations and Programming

1. Collaborative operation presentation and standards review

This portion of the course covers the different types of collaborative operation and how they can be/will be achieved with FANUC products as well as the RIA/ISO standards for collaborative operation.

Course Objectives: Students successfully completing this course will be able to:

  • Understand the 4 types of collaborative operation
  • Understand which FANUC products can be used in each type of collaborative operation
  • See how the technology is in use today
  • Preview upcoming technical report releases to the standard

2. DCS Review and Collaborative Robot Set Up

This portion of the course covers parts of DCS that an operator, technician, engineer or programmer needs to setup and use the collaborative robot.

Course Objectives: Students successfully completing this course will be able to:

  • Power up and jog the CR-Series robot
  • Set up the collaborative sensor in DCS
  • Enable/disable contact stop
  • Create and use DCS Cartesian/joint position and speed check for collaborative operations
  • Create and use DCS SIR and safety I/O for collaborative operation
  • Create and confirm payload schedules
  • Understand and use the payload change function
  • Set up contact stop force schedules

3. CR-Series Collaborative Robot Operations and Programming

This portion of the course covers the basic tasks and procedures required for an operator, technician, engineer or programmer to set up, teach, test, and modify the Robot and collaborative applications on an R-30iB Robot Controller.

Course Objectives: Students successfully completing this course will be able to:

  • Discussion of collaborative considerations and concepts
  • Discussion and setup of Hardware
  • Discussion and setup of software
  • Discussion of the necessary settings for payload change function
  • Teach and run a collaborative application
  • Set up of high speed mode
  • Set up of periodical check function
  • Set up of lights and buttons on the Robot
  • Push to escape functionality

Recommended safety procedures are integrated into all training exercises. In addition to presentations and demonstrations, this course offers a series of lab exercises for the student to complete. Lab exercises relate directly to the classroom presentations and are intended to reinforce what the student has learned through actual hands-on experience.

Audience: This course is intended for signed authorized integrators who must install, set up, program, and troubleshoot a FANUC CR-Series Robot using HandlingTool software.

Prerequisites: Completion of a live, FANUC instructor led Operation and Programming course (such as HandlingTool, ArcTool, SpotTool) and a live, FANUC instructor led DCS (Dual Check Safety) class.
