This course covers the tasks a technician, programmer or engineer would need to accomplish in order to set up and use FANUC America Corporation’s Dual Check Safety (DCS) software. This class is specific to robots with version 7.5 and newer software.

Course Objectives: Students successfully completing this course will be able to:

  • Understand the DCS menus
  • Set up and Modify DCS General parameters
  • Set up position check functions
  • Recover from DCS alarm
  • Modify DCS Zone Checks
  • Setup Stop Position Prediction
  • Create User Models and User Frames
  • Set up and modify Speed Check parameters
  • Set up and Modify DCS Safe I/O parameters

Recommended safety procedures are integrated into all training exercises.

In addition to presentations and demonstrations, this course offers a series of lab exercises for the student to complete. The exercises relate to the classroom presentations and are intended to reinforce what the student has learned. This course includes a pre-test and post-test to measure mastery of objectives.

This course is intended for the person who must set up an R-30iA (software version 7.5 and Newer) or R-30iB FANUC robot controller with DCS software installed.

Prerequisites: The student needs to be familiar with teach pendant menus, jogging, frames, basic programming, and fault recovery of the robot prior to attendance in this class. Completion of a FANUC Robot Operations and Programming class is required.  Knowledge of HandlingPRO software is beneficial.
